We left Pamukkale for Denizli and then headed for the coast again. Our first stop was Mugla where we changed buses for Fethiye. It appears that after the high season is over buses tend to do shorter runs and meet and consolidate passengers along the way. The drive to Fethiye was scenic with glimpses of the ocean on the right and rugged mountains on the left.
On arrival we caught a local bus to Calis Beach and then walked to our accommodation. We are in a quiet part of town, a way out from the centre but a nice pool and facilities. We caught the Dolmus into town and walked along the Marina, making a selection for a boat cruise tomorrow. We've opted for one that promises to stay in calm waters, has quite music and isn't a “party trip”. We can only hope the promise is kept!
We had dinner in the market area, right under the mosque tower, then caught the return Dolmus to our hotel.
