Some Old Haunts revisited

Distance walked- 11.06 km

Transport used- trains and buses

Our first stop was an ATM to start clearing the bank account we left here and then a money changer to organise some Turkish Lira.

We then set off to purchase some kind of storage device for an iPad that I was sure existed. According to all the tech guys at Sim Lim City, nothing like this has been produced yet. Headed to Bugis and while I opted for a cold milk bubble tea Heather had her favourite Sour Plum drink.

Bussed to Chinatown and headed straight for Tak Po for a dumpling lunch. We just couldn't fit in the “famous frog congee”!! We did take some people here a couple of years ago and they decided to try it. They loved it and their eight year old daughter cried when it was finished and she wasn't allowed another bowl. It's that good!!

Visited the food market downstairs and resisted the bargain of three frogs for $10 or two turtles for $12 (alive) for our dinner, instead settling for some corn cobs which we'll have with some salad.

Visited the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and then walked over Ann Siang Hill to the Telok Ayer area where we made a quick visit to the Thian Hock Keng temple, noting the contrast between the old and new Singapore.

Continued walking back towards the river. Stopped at Clark Quay for a well deserved beer (happy hour) at SQUED and then trained from Clark Quay to Holland Village which required two changes. Arrived back in time to farewell Rosemary and have settled in for a restful evening.
