Topkapi Palace (Old City-part 2)

Distance walked- 9.36km

Modes of transport- funicular rail, tram

We set off reasonably early for Sultanahmet with the aim of getting to Topkapi Palace before the crowds arrived. Again it's the sort of site that is worth reading a little about before arrival, having a plan of attack and having some information with you. We don't need indepth studies of the whole thing, just an outline, some idea of dates and a clue of what we are looking at. Istanbul is very impressive area with some amazing history. A bit lean on photos today ax you can't take pictures inside the palace rooms and you get ushered out by guards if you do!

Being a bit arty.

Entrance to the Palace.

Heather behind the camera.

We still have a couple of sites to visit in the old city area and will do those when we return in four weeks.
Had drinks at a bar that were paid for by an English guy we got talking to. Unexpected but probably on his business card. Dinner then returned and ready for a travel day.

We are packed and ready to go to Goreme/Cappdoccia tomorrow.
